About Anima

The word Anima has two primary meanings; one being the feminine part of a man's personality, and second being the irrational part of the soul, as distinguished from the rational mind. Both meanings speak to my personal feelings about this series of sculptures.

Anima is the first in a rebirth of a series of sculptures I stopped creating in 2012. Despite its monetary success, I felt I had to move away from the series. Their creation had deeply person meaning for me that I need to step back from. Through 2023 I felt the urge to create new works in the abandoned stye once again, but had to find a way to blend the old with the new and recognize the evolution of my aesthetic since then. Anima is the first effort.
