About White Mountain III

White Mountain III is a streamline interpretation a mountain. My favorite ecosystems are alpine valleys with lakes resting at the bases of beautiful, peaked mountains. When I am in such places sculptural visions wash over me. While the geometry of mountains is intricate in the extreme, I find their overall gestures supple, sweeping, sexy and triumphant. This sculpture is a pure mountain gesture made simple yet complex through curves, negative space and shadow.
