I have wanted to create a chromed sculpture since I created my first piece in steel many years ago. That makes the first in this series a very special piece for me as it is where chrome finally took its place in my work, nearly twenty years after the creation of that first metal sculpture. I found myself fond enough of that first sculpture that I have decided to create an ongoing series of Mirror Mast sculptures, each unique, but all of similar form.
The Mirror Masts pull the element of reflection into the realms of negative space, engaging the ambient space and shadow. The gentle curve of these sculptures also evokes the transient and subtle power and forms of wind and air.
