About Hubris

Hubris is one of several sculptures that have been created, beginning in 2016 to embrace more graceful, natural and sensual curves. I am happy with the results when it come to these pieces and will be expanding upon this motif.

Hubris was created with the idea of flight in mind. As the piece evolved it began to resemble folding, perhaps failing wings, like the failing wings of Icarus in the myth of his ill-fated flight toward the sun. That is often seen as a tale of hubris, hence, the title of this piece.
