About Floating River

Floating River is a feature installation in the lounge of a Hyatt Hotel in Arlington, Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC.

The installation, featuring a 48-inch by 96-inch artwork at iyts center, is a floating, dreamy interpretation in illuminated acrylic of an approximate two-mile portion of the Potomac River that stretches from the Carderock Recreational Area and Vaso Island, down to Glenn Echo Historic Park and Ruppert Island. Glenn Echo is a 7.5 mile drive north from here along the Potomac River. The Potomac River and the parks and running trails along it near to Washington, DC are a primary source of inspiration for the artist, who works through many of his sculptural designs while running there.
