Floating River is a feature installation in the lounge of a Hyatt Hotel in Arlington, Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC.
The installation, featuring a 48-inch by 96-inch artwork at its center, is a floating, dreamy interpretation in illuminated acrylic of an approximate two-mile portion of the Potomac River that stretches from the Carderock Recreational Area and Vaso Island, down to Glenn Echo Historic Park and Ruppert Island. Glenn Echo is a 7.5 mile drive north from Washington, DC along the Potomac River. The parks and running trails along the Potomac River near to Washington, DC are a primary source of inspiration for me, as I jog and run there very often. I work through many of his sculptural designs during those runs.
