Interstellar is a wall triptych comprised of aluminum panels. It coincides with the creation of some pedestal size hardwood sculptures in which I explore a more measured inclusion of negative space.
In my earlies days creating sculpture, the positive space in my artwork was more at the forefront of my forms, with the negative space typically being the space between solid elements. This type of sculpture looks back to that in spirit in its celebrating of the positive space, however; the positive space here consists of a singular (or three single) element, and not multiple, piece together elements.
