About Gnomon

A public artwork in Fairfax, Virginia, that was inspired by its proximity to the Dulles International Airport and thus flying machines. It is a twenty-foot spire in two angled parts that come together to form a stacked diamond, framing the sky as one looks up from within the sculpture

Gnomon can be seen from the south entrance of the Innovation Center Metrorail Station, Washington Metro Area Transit Authority (WMATA), located in the median of the Dulles Airport Access Highway/Dulles Toll Road in Herndon, VA. It is the Metro station nearest to Dulles International Airport.
