ALONG THE RIVER is a large-scale wall hanging that is made of aluminum, brass and copper. It is a companion piece to the even larger work FOREST DENSITY. The frame of this work was cut from the same aluminum tube stock that I used to form portions of my FROZEN POND TABLE.
ALONG THE RIVER simply depicts a forest scene, with great emphasis on negative space and texture. The 'river' I refer to is the Potomac River, along which I spend a great deal of time running and finding inspiration.
