About Starry Ladder

Inspired by the theme of “Starry Night,” artist and designer Michael Enn Sirvet created a luminous installation for a private home that invites anyone ascending the main staircase to feel like they are moving among the stars. The thirty-one-foot suspended artwork consists of twenty-four perforated aluminum panels illuminated from the top and bottom. By day, Starry Ladder glistens in the sunlight, while by night, it emits a soft, celestial glow.

Michael Enn Sirvet and architect John Katinas share a rich history of collaboration that dates back to the early 2000s when Sirvet worked as a consulting structural engineer with Katinas Bruckwick Architecture. After Sirvet left behind engineering to establish Sirvet Studios LLC, his work evolved from structural to artistic projects, including site-specific commissions. Starry Ladder represents Sirvet’s creative response to Katinas’ request for an illuminated artwork that complements his architectural vision.
